Peter A. Cohen was a prominent American banker, born in 1946 and passing away in 2019. Cohen served as the chairman and chief executive officer of Shearson Lehman American Express from 1983 to 1991, playing a key role in shaping the company's direction during his tenure.

He led the company until its merger with Cowen Inc. in 2009, at which point he took on the role of chairman and CEO of the combined entity, also known as Cowen & Company and now TD Cowen. Later, Cohen became the chairman and CEO of Andover National Corporation, a public holding company.
