Yitzhak Melamed

Yitzhak Melamed is a prominent Israeli-American philosopher, recognized for his expertise in the fields of Spinoza and modern philosophy. He currently holds the distinguished position of Charlotte Bloomberg Professor of Philosophy at Johns Hopkins University. Melamed's academic background is marked by notable achievements, including a master's degree in history and philosophy of science from Tel Aviv University, followed by a PhD in philosophy from Yale University.

Throughout his career, Melamed has received numerous prestigious fellowships and grants, underscoring his scholarly excellence. These include the Fulbright, American Academy for Jewish Research, Mellon, Humboldt, NEH, and ACLS-Burkhardt Fellowships, awarded between 1996 and 2012. In addition to his professorial role, Melamed has shared his expertise through intensive masterclasses at esteemed institutions worldwide, such as the University of Toronto, École normale supérieure de Lyon, Peking University, and the École des hautes études en sciences sociales, between 2016 and 2019.
